For Volunteers During Disasters or Emergencies

ServPA is Pennsylvania’s online System for registration of volunteers interested in responding to or assisting with a disaster or other emergency. [Read More]

ServPA collects basic information concerning a volunteer’s skills and areas of expertise in advance of an emergency response situation.

Pennsylvania uses its volunteers in accordance with local, regional, and State emergency operations plans primarily through recognized service groups. Service groups include local, regional, and statewide organizations recognized by the Commonwealth, as well as special emergency response teams. Recruiting members of a recognized community service group is key; however, anyone interested in assisting in a disaster is welcome to register through ServPA.

ServPA is designed to support three functions:

                 • Registration - key information on an individual interested
                    in serving during an emergency

                 • Emergency Credentialing - to identify, monitor, and better
utilize volunteers in emergencies and disasters; and to
validate the identity, credentials, and licenses

                 • Activation & Deployment - to ensure appropriate and
                    available workforce resources

ServPA allows for Pennsylvania to: Be prepared, Be diligent, and Volunteer.

ServPA establishes a standardized, volunteer registry that includes readily available, verifiable information regarding the volunteer’s identity, licensing, credentialing, accreditation, and service group affiliations.

The registry helps assure a more timely and effective utilization of volunteers in emergency situations.

ServPA is committed to recruiting individuals and partnering with local, regional, and statewide organizations and special emergency response teams.
