DCMS Public Health Fund – 2007

As many of our members may remember, the Delaware County Medical Society Public Health Fund was founded by the DCMS in 1964, following a county-wide polio immunization program.

The fund incorporated using cash which was raised and not used for the immunization program. Under the leadership of Dr. Harry V. Armitage, Howard F. Reed, Esq. and Dr. Arthur D. Reynolds, the fund began to provide initial “seed money” to public health groups in Delaware County that could not otherwise have funds available for special projects.

For the past twenty-five years the fund has been very well-managed by Mr. Graham Andrews and Mr. John Rosecky of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Rosecky presently serves as President of the Fund; David M. Smilk, Esq. serves as Secretary and Robert F. Plotkin, MD, an original board member of the fund serves as Chairman of the Grant Committee.

Other DCMS Public Health Fund Board members include: Richard C. Nelson, DDS; David Kramer, CPA; Donna P. Scott, MD; Fredric N. Hellman, MD; Joan C. Waller, MD; Rehka Yagnik, MD and DCMS Executive Director David A. McKeighan.
